Crime Trends Working Group

Evans was named Superintendent of the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) in 2015. Prior to this role, he worked for the BCA Investigations Division: Homicide Unit as a special agent and senior special agent, conducting and overseeing violent crime investigations throughout Minnesota. Evans also served as a police officer and detective for the city of White Bear Lake and is an adjunct professor in the criminal justice and law enforcement programs at St. Mary’s University and Metropolitan State University.

A licensed attorney in the state of Minnesota, Evans is an alumnus of the 257th Session of the FBI National Academy and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Leadership in Police Organizations program. He serves as Vice President of the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies (ASCIA), chairs ASCIA’s Use of Force Investigations Committee, and serves on the Minnesota Violent Crime Coordinating Council, the U.S. Attorney’s Project Safe Neighborhoods Steering Committee, and other committees.
