State Court Administrator, Utah Judiciary

Ron Gordon served as General Counsel to Governor Gary R. Herbert, Utah’s 17th Governor. In that capacity, he provided legal counsel to the Governor on a wide range of issues and serves as the Governor’s legislative director. He also has the privilege of assisting Governor Herbert with judicial appointments.

Prior to this position, Ron worked as the Executive Director of the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice where he oversaw a 21-member commission charged with coordinating criminal and juvenile justice policy throughout Utah. During his time at CCJJ, he led significant reform efforts in the Utah criminal justice system and the Utah juvenile justice system.

Ron has also served as the Director of the Utah Office of Crime Victim Reparations, Coordinator of the Criminal Justice Advisory Council in Salt Lake County, Director of the Utah Sentencing Commission and staff attorney to the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice. He received his Bachelor of Science from Brigham Young University in 1995 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Utah in 1998.
