Head serves as vice chair of CCJ’s Board of Directors and was a member of the Council’s Task Force on Long Sentences.
Timothy Head is the president and CEO at Unify.US. In his former role as executive director of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, Head played a key role in creating several legislative bills passed in recent years, including the First Step Act, the Fight Online Sex Trafficking Act (FOSTA), and the Stop Enabling Sex Traffickers Act (SESTA). Many call the First Step Act the most meaningful reform of the federal criminal justice system in over 30 years.
Previously, Head worked in public policy as the district director for a member of the Texas congressional delegation. He also served as chief of staff and policy advisor to members of the Texas Legislature and worked on the Republican Party of Texas’ 2010 Victory Texas effort. Before working in public policy, Head served as a missionary in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe and worked on staff at Antioch Community Church in Waco, Texas. Head graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master’s of Social Work and received his Juris Doctor from Baylor Law School. In 2021, Head was the first private citizen to be awarded Baylor University’s Pro Texana Medal of Service, a prestigious award recognizing one graduate each year whose contributions have furthered Baylor’s mission to significantly impact the public or nonprofit sector.
Head has an extensive public presence, with publications appearing in outlets such as Fox News, National Review, Christian Post, Washington Examiner, The Hill, and The Jerusalem Post. He has been quoted by AP News, USA Today, The New Yorker, Washington Times, and Atlanta Journal Constitution and has made numerous TV and radio appearances, including on MSNBC, NPR, CBN, One America News Network, and Newsmax.
