Across the country, community gun violence remains on the rise. On November 9th, three members of CCJ’s Violent Crime Working Group – one from law enforcement, one from academia, and one representing community-based activism – discussed how cops and communities can work together to stop violence and save lives. Rejecting “either/or” narratives that put community and police efforts in competition with one another, these panelists argue that collaboration is key to keeping the peace.
