Zelle Calina manages the Council’s internal systems, supports staff and board functions, and oversees logistics for events and convenings. She plays a key role in CCJ’s organizational strategy through systems optimization and cross-team collaboration.
Calina also serves in a consulting role for other nonprofit organizations across the country, providing expertise on operations and systems. Her portfolio spans a wide range of mission-driven clients, from grassroots initiatives to international nonprofits. Prior to joining the Council, she worked in internal operations at a multi-country organization working to counter human trafficking. Earlier in her career, she managed multi-channel fundraising campaigns for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and contributed to capacity-building efforts across health, education, and justice-focused organizations. Calina serves on the board of CHEER Colorado, a philanthropic organization that blends volunteerism, performance, and advocacy for inclusion. She has also appeared on The Prollennial Podcast to share her experiences navigating a values-driven career path.
Calina graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center with a focus on public health and has completed professional certificates in nonprofit management, marketing, and CRM platforms.
