Jenifer Warren edits and provides strategic guidance on all publications produced by the Council, including reports and recommendations from its commissions and task forces, research briefs, and opinion pieces by staff and members. Previously, she managed internal and external communications for CCJ.
Warren spent most of her career as a journalist, including more than 20 years as a staff writer and bureau chief for the Los Angeles Times. Her coverage ranged from state government, politics, and the California Supreme Court to criminal justice policy and the environment. The recipient of numerous journalism awards, Warren was a member of the LA Times staff that won the Pulitzer Prize for coverage of the Los Angeles riots following the police beating of Rodney King. Prior to joining the Council, Warren worked as a communications consultant, managing media campaigns and providing strategic support to nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
Warren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. She is based in Sacramento.
