Erik Opsal has more than 15 years of strategic communications experience working across nonprofits, government, academia, and politics. Most recently, he led communications at NYU’s Center for Social Media and Politics, an academic research institute studying how the online information environment impacts democracy. Prior to that, Erik held communications roles with the YMCA of Greater New York, the Brennan Center for Justice, and U.S. Senator Russ Feingold. He’s a native Midwesterner, and a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, who now lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children.
