Bio: Since 2011, Alysia Bell has shared her time between UNITE-LA, a 22-year old nonprofit organization that promotes business-education partnerships and provides workforce development opportunities, and the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE), a century-old association of 1,600 member chambers across the U.S. including the leading business organizations in 92 of the top 100 U.S. metro areas as well as state-level, regional and local chambers representing communities of all sizes representing 1.2 million organizations, nearly 3 million executives, and 70 million employees.
Bio 2: At the national level, Bell helped to launch and leads ACCE's Education and Talent Development Division (ETD), which seeks to dramatically enhance the nature of business involvement in cradle to career education and talent development issues including early childhood education, K-12, higher education, workforce development, smart justice, health and wellness, and diversity, equity and inclusion at the regional, state, and national level through programs, policy, and systems change. At the state level, Bell has helped to lead the Education and Workforce Development Committee of the Regional Economic Association Leaders (R.E.A.L.) Coalition of California, an association of the state's most influential business and economic development entities representing 20 organizations, 15,000 employers and 3.9 million jobs.
Bio 3: At the local level, Bell is engaged with workforce development efforts to connect underserved youth in Los Angeles to high-growth, high-wage careers. Previously, Bell was the Vice President of Workforce Development and Administration for the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce in Dallas County, Texas, where she oversaw the education committee and foundation, adult and youth leadership programs, and human resources function for five years. Bell held previous positions at the Los Angeles Unified School District, Southern California Edison, and was an adjunct professor at Pepperdine University. Bell earned her B.A. from the University of Southern California, where she was also a member of the rowing team, and her M.A. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Cal State University, Long Beach. Bell is a big fan of football, baseball, basketball, Orangetheory Fitness, kombucha, and most importantly, the two loves of her life: her husband Matt and their two-year old son Maddox.
