Rob Wilcox

Former Deputy Director, White House Office of Gun Violence

Rob Wilcox is former special assistant to President Joe Biden and deputy director of the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, lead the first ever office with that charge within the federal government. As deputy director, Wilcox helped to implement the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, expand partnerships with state and local officials, identify new executive actions, and initiate a federal gun violence emergency response system.

Previously, Wilcox served as the senior director of federal government affairs at Everytown for Gun Safety. While at Everytown, he advised Senator Chris Murphy as he negotiated the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, the most significant gun safety law passed by Congress in nearly 30 years. A national expert in gun safety policy, Wilcox has appeared in multiple media outlets and testified before Congress. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Wesleyan University and a JD from Northwestern School of Law. His work on gun violence honors his cousin, Laura, who was shot and killed at 19, and is inspired by the tireless advocacy efforts of his Aunt Amanda and Uncle Nick.
