Len Engel brings over 30 years of experience in criminal and juvenile justice policy and strategically leads the Crime and Justice Institute’s (CJI’s) policy and legislative work in states across the country. Over the course of 20 years at CJI, Engel has directed numerous criminal justice projects in more than 20 states. He has collaborated with leaders throughout the field to assist states and local governments as they develop data-driven, collaborative strategies that improve public safety, reduce the unnecessary use of incarceration, and ensure more effective and efficient justice system resources.
