Jake Horowitz leads the safety and justice portfolio at The Pew Charitable Trusts, where he and his team bring together the research, solutions, and momentum that decision-makers need to strengthen the nation’s civil and criminal justice systems. Horowitz previously led Pew’s Public Safety Performance Project, which helped state and federal leaders advance data-driven policies and practices in the adult and juvenile sentencing and corrections systems that protect public safety, ensure accountability, and contain costs.
Before joining Pew, Horowitz was a legislative fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives, a social science analyst with the U.S. Department of Justice’s National Institute of Justice, and a counselor and teacher with Eckerd Youth Alternatives.
