Ganesha Martin, Esq. is a human-centered public safety expert, nationally recognized for advancing solutions that center the needs of both communities and the officers who serve them. As Chief of the Minneapolis Police Department’s Bureau of Constitutional Policing, Martin now leads critical reform efforts under the city’s settlement with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and improvements identified in the U.S. Department of Justice consent decree.

Her career spans high-impact roles in public safety, government, and technology, including initiatives to improve crisis intervention, use of force policies, youth engagement, hiring and recruitment, officer wellness, and community partnerships. Previously, she served as Vice President at Mark43, where she championed software innovations that support accountability and community trust. Martin also held senior roles in Baltimore City Government, including Director of the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice and Chief of DOJ Compliance for the Baltimore Police Department, where she led early implementation of the federal consent decree.

A member of the Board of Directors for the National Criminal Justice Association, Martin is widely sought for her expertise in policy development, consent decree implementation, and systems-level change. She continues to shape national conversations on reimagining public safety, with a focus on community engagement, officer wellness, and building institutions that are both effective and just.
