Denise M. Robinson is an internationally recognized leader in the corrections profession. She is the 108th President of the American Correctional Association (ACA) and the first ACA President from the community corrections field. Robinson is the President and CEO at Alvis, Inc., an organization dedicated to providing community-based services and removing barriers for individuals with justice involvement. Since Robinson was appointed President of Alvis in 2005, she has led a sixfold expansion in the depth and breadth of the agency’s services, adding behavioral health and trauma treatment, workforce development and skills training, and family and children’s services. Robinson first joined Alvis in 1984 to oversee the agency’s specialized treatment programs for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities who have, or are at risk for, justice-involvement.
For more than 40 years, Robinson has been dedicated to turning lives around and has received many awards for her service, including the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Service from President Obama in 2016.
