Denise Robinson is a leader in providing reentry services to formerly incarcerated individuals. Robinson is currently the President and CEO at Alvis, Inc., an organization providing reentry programs to underserved populations affected by the criminal justice system. Robinson has worked for Alvis, Inc. since 1984, when she began her service as a program director, and she has demonstrated dedication and leadership for over 35 years. After she was appointed President in 2005, she began to expand Alvis’ programs. Under her leadership, Alvis, Inc. has increased its budget sixfold and expanded its services to include behavioral health treatment, workforce development, and family and children’s services. In 2016, President Obama awarded Robinson the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Service.
Robinson is also a leader in corrections. She currently serves as the 108th President of the American Correctional Association and leads nationwide discussions on improving outcomes for those impacted by the justice system.
