Bio: Egan is currently serving as Interim Chief Administrative Officer at Fountain House, a national mental health nonprofit fighting to improve health, increase opportunity, and end social and economic isolation for people most impacted by serious mental illness.

Bio 2: Prior to joining Fountain House, Egan served as executive director of the New York City Board of Correction, the oversight body for the New York City jail system, where she saw firsthand the desperate need to close Rikers Island and engage in holistic reform in the jail system. She also oversaw the CUNY Institute for State and Local Governance’s work developing systemic reforms for the New York City Department of Corrections, which included ISLG’s work with the Independent Commission on New York City Criminal Justice and Incarceration Reform and the plan to close Rikers Island. In that role, Egan and her team developed a comprehensive set of recommendations for organizational culture change at DOC.

Bio 3: Egan previously served as assistant secretary for public safety to Governor Cuomo in New York, director of policy and government affairs for Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart in Chicago, and acting executive director of the Cook County Justice Advisory Council.
