Before joining the Council, Acevedo conducted research on the Freedom of Information Act for a nonprofit organization focused on advocating for Florida’s wildlife and watershed. As a political science honors student at the University of Florida, Acevedo completed an independent research thesis on political tolerance while contributing to a study on gender differences in politicians’ media coverage in her role as a Junior Research Fellow.
