Williams spent almost 20 years as leader of the nonprofit Safer Foundation, one of the nation’s largest providers of employment placement and job readiness training exclusively for people with criminal records. The 2011 recipient of President Obama’s Champion of Change award, Williams also serves as a consultant on reentry and other issues for multiple federal agencies and organizations, and chairs the National Institute of Corrections Advisory Board.
