Norman L. Reimer is Of Counsel to the New York City based law firm Vladeck, Raskin & Clark, P. C.. Prior to that he was the the Global CEO of Fair Trials. Before joining Fair Trials, he served for 15 years as the Executive Director of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL), the preeminent organization in the US dedicated to enhancing the capacity of the criminal defense bar to safeguard fundamental rights and promote reforms in furtherance of a fair, rational, humane, and non-discriminatory criminal legal system.
Prior to his time at NACDL, Norm was a criminal defence lawyer based in New York City for over 20 years, practicing in state and federal court at both the trial and appellate levels and promoting systemic reform through both his service as a leader of the organised bar and the chair of numerous task forces and committees. Norm is a passionate advocate for the rights of the accused and the need to limit governmental overreach in the enforcement of its laws.
Norm also serves as on the advisory committees of the Plea Bargaining Institute and the End the Trial Penalty Coalition.
