Mckesson is a member of the Council’s Board of Trustees and was a member of the Task Force on Policing.

A lead organizer of the Black Lives Matter movement, DeRay Mckesson has worked to advance equity and justice since his youth, and continues that quest as a widely followed Twitter influencer and host of the award-winning podcast Pod Save the People. After Ferguson, Mckesson co-founded Campaign Zero, which generates policies that seek to end police shootings and improve community safety. He is the author of On the Other Side of Freedom: The Case for Hope.
